Good ideas that work are nothing new to sisters Myrna Krohn and Robyn Riep who grew up with an inventor dad who was always looking at ways to make life easier with innovative tools and gadgets.
Wear-n-Share was Robyn and Myrna's way to make it easier on their friends and colleagues who had gastric bypass surgery to look stylish and professional throughout the process of losing the weight after surgery.
It all started over the noon hour one day when Robyn was sitting in the company lunchroom. She noticed a stylishly-dressed colleague who was cutting her food in tiny bite sizes. When Robyn asked her about it, she shared that she had just lost 80 pounds as a result of gastric bypass surgery and had been dropping two full sizes a month. She bemoaned the fact that the expensive Chanel-style suit she was wearing would no longer fit in a few weeks. She added that she had recently purchased another expensive suit for an upcoming national conference that no longer fit. It was now sitting in her closet with the tags still on. The colleague told Robyn that the doctors, nutritionists, counselors, and nurses explain in minute detail what to expect while losing the weight, but do not address the significant clothing expense patients incur. And, while insurance companies now cover the costs of weight loss procedures, they do not reimburse for clothing expenses.
Robyn picked up the phone and called her sister, Myrna, and together they came up with the Wear-n-Share concept, the first online clothing resale site specifically for rapid weight loss patients who wanted to look great without spending a fortune while they were shedding sizes along the way to their ideal weight.
“We created Wear-n-Share as a way to ease you through your journey to reach your weight loss goal and to look your very best along the way,” says Robyn.
